Woven Geotextiles

Offering High-Quality Geosynthetic Capabilities

Woven geotextiles are made by interlacing two or more sets of yarns or fibers. This family of geotextile fabrics varies widely in strength and flow rate, from very low with slit tapes to extremely high in the advanced options, such as the TenCate Mirafi RSi materials. Woven Geotextiles provide filtration and separation, which is typically secondary to their reinforcement confinement functions. Their ability to provide effective reinforcement, as is essential in subgrade stabilization applications, is closely tied to a high modulus of elasticity. In other words, the ability to resist forces with minimal deformation. The standard test that best reflects this is the Tensile Strength at 2% Strain (ASTM D4595). Flow rate is also a major factor, as allowing the movement of water away from a pavement section contributes to pavement life. Ferguson Waterworks also carries Non-Woven Geotextiles.
